Akotarh Akoson
Senior Cybersecurity Analyst, civic-tech leader, former politician, Ambazonia advocate, and serial founder building technology that strengthens institutions and empowers communities.
The Beginning
Akotarh Akoson — formerly known publicly as Raymond Akoson and Akoson Raymond — is a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst, civic-tech leader, entrepreneur, and human-rights advocate whose life has been shaped by an extraordinary intersection of technology, politics, displacement, and purpose.
Born in the Manyu Division of English Cameroon (Ambazonia), Akotarh grew up in a region defined by colonial tensions and the persistent resilience of its people. These formative experiences gave him a foundational perspective on the relationship between institutional power, technological access, and civic freedom — a perspective that would animate his entire career.
"I didn't choose cybersecurity. Cybersecurity chose me the moment I understood that broken systems — whether digital or governmental — cause the same kind of harm to the same kind of people."
Political Career & Civic Leadership
Before establishing himself in cybersecurity, Akotarh was a prominent political figure in Cameroon. He served as National Secretary for Organization and later Secretary General of the People Action Party, placed at the center of Cameroonian political life during one of its most consequential periods.
He ran for Parliament representing the Manyu Constituency in English Cameroon (Ambazonia), campaigning on digital development, institutional accountability, and the rights of marginalized communities. Following displacement from the Anglophone Crisis, he became an active advocate for the Ambazonia movement, documenting human-rights violations through formal channels and engaging international stakeholders.
Cybersecurity Career in the United States
After relocating to the United States, Akotarh earned a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity — Magna Cum Laude — from Bellevue University. He is currently a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst with a U.S. Fortune 500 company, with prior experience supporting U.S. Federal Government contracts. His expertise spans threat detection, security operations, vulnerability management, and secure digital transformation.
Ventures & Entrepreneurship
Akotarh is the Founder and CEO of America CyberSquad (ACS), a United States registered company that provides a comprehensive suite of services — including Global Talent Sourcing & Placement, Structured I.T Learning & Certification Prep, Cybersecurity (MSSP), and tailored Digital Solutions for Business and Academic Institutions — delivering innovative, secure, and globally accessible technology solutions.
ACS empowers organizations to thrive in the digital era through customized strategies that enhance operational efficiency, drive growth, and protect I.T Infrastructure. Two prominent digital solutions that Akotarh is championing are Scholarstika (a modern multi-tenant SaaS School Management application), and Mandem (a church management system).
"Every institution I have built, and every system I have secured, exists in service of the same goal: a world where people are not made vulnerable by the systems meant to protect them."
